Wordlens, an iPhone translator

IPHONE develop applications that can be the perfect tool when you get lost and difficult to read the instructions in a foreign country. Application called WordLens It uses a built-in iPhone camera to recognize text contained dilhat through the lens. For example if you find a menu in a restaurant or street signs, can translate the words as seen through the camera phone.

How to work WordLens quite easy with handwriting recognition that works on the phrase, then the software 'Optical Character Recognition' automatically translate into new languages. New translation is then inserted above the original article before it is translated in 'real time'.

A promotional video for this application has become a 'hit' on the internet. "This is a remarkable innovation," said one visitor site Mashable technology.

But not every phrase is translated into a perfect grammar. But the speed and accuracy of its software is still good enough to understand simple road signs and restaurant menus.

Otavio Good, one of the developers WordLens mentioned that the next step of WordLens is able to translate more languages. He plans to integrate all major languages in Europe and developing other potential applications such as word for the physically impaired readers nutera.

Currently WordLens application only works from Spanish into English and can be downloaded only by paying U.S. $ 4.99
